Burn Ban Now In Effect    The Commonwealth of Kentucky Division of Air Quality has enacted a burn ban that became effective on May 1, 2008 and runs until September 30, 2008 for all of Northern Kentucky.  The purpose of the burn ban is to reduce summer-time pollution in densely populated areas like Greater Cincinnati, where warm weather smog is a fact of life.  The only burning allowed under the current ban is cooking of food for human consumption and fires set for recreational and ceremonial purposes.  Violating state air quality regulations could result in a fine of up to $25,000 per day.  A representative from the Division of Air Quality office does not have to see a fire burning to levee a fine.  The representative only has to see evidence of a fire.  If you would like to file a complaint or would like more information on open burning you can call 1-888-BURN-LAW or e-mail burnlaw@ky.gov.

Hydrant Testing Season Starting  It is now hydrant testing season again for Hebron.  Crews will be in subdivisions and on main roads testing fire hydrants over the next couple of months.  Please use caution when passing a unit testing the hydrants.

Eye On Kentucky  1-866-EYE-ON-KY is an anonymous tip line, which allows Kentuckians to report any suspicious criminal or terrorist activity they see. The tip line is sponsored by the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security and the Kentucky Intelligence Fusion Center.
