Hello,
and thank you for visiting the Hebron Fire Protection District
website. We are glad you stopped by and welcome your comments.
Hello, my name is J. William Martin,
most people know me as Bill, and I am the Fire Chief for the Hebron
Fire Protection District. I am proud of our many
accomplishments and the daily effort that our personnel put into
providing our district with the best possible fire and emergency
medical services. I receive positive comments on a weekly
basis making sure that I am aware of the excellent service that one
of our staff provided to a resident or visitor to our district.
If you have any comments that you feel need to be relayed to our
staff please feel free to send us a message on this Website.
If you feel there is an area where we can improve our service or
correct an issue then also feel free to tell me.
We are the leaders in many fire and
EMS programs in our area and we strive every day to make sure that
we aren't just ready for today but also for tomorrow. As most
long term residents of Hebron realize the area has undergone a
tremendous change over the past 10 years. The residential
growth in the area is phenomenal and this is coupled with a
tremendous increase also in our commercial, industrial and
warehousing throughout the district.
Our personnel consist of 32 career
employees, 15 volunteers and a 19 person explorer post. Our
main challenge is to remain ahead of the needs of the community as
it continues to grow. Our planning commission anticipates that
our community will double in population within the next 20 years.
Our facilities, apparatus and personnel are ready to meet your fire
and emergency medical service needs into this future.
Our fire protection district is
located in the northern tip of Boone County, Kentucky. We are
part of a three county area known as "Northern Kentucky" and we are
within the Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Region. Our county
is currently recognized as one of the fastest growing counties in
the Commonwealth of Kentucky and also the nation. The Hebron
portion of Boone County is experiencing this rapid growth in
primarily residential single family housing and also distribution
warehousing. The community is supported by schools, churches
and commercial developments.
Our department is responsible for fire
suppression, fire prevention and education along with emergency
medical services transport at the Advanced Life Support level.
We are active in county teams involved in public education, fire
investigation, and hazardous materials response at the technician
level, as well as technical rescue in the areas of confined space
rescue, high and low angle rescue and trench rescue.
Our department needs to be involved in
our community. I invite you to allow us to become part of your
activities, whether those are at school, church, club, home, or
business.
If you are interested in being a
member of our department I encourage you to take a few moments to
investigate the benefits of becoming a volunteer member of the
department if you are eighteen years of age or older, or our
explorer post if you are fourteen to seventeen years of age.
We hold numerous fire prevention or public education classes, CPR or
First Aid training, car seat inspections, and conduct fire station
tours.
If you have a need and you don't know
if we can meet that need I ask that you give us a call at
859-586-9009. In most cases we will immediately attempt to
assist you if we can.
I look forward to working with you in
the future as Chief of the department.
Cordially
J. William "Bill" Martin
Thanks, Bill
Fire Chief J. William Martin of the
Hebron Fire Protection District has once again successfully
completed the process that awards him the professional designation
of "Chief Fire Officer" (CFO). The Commission on Chief Fire
Officer Designation met on March 1, 2006 to officially confer the
re-designation upon Chief Martin. Chief Martin is one of only
498 CFO's worldwide and one of 4 within Kentucky.
The Chief Fire Officer Designation
program is a voluntary program designed to recognize individuals who
demonstrate their excellence in seven measured components including:
Experience, Education, Professional Development, Professional
Contributions, Association Membership, Community Involvement, and
Technical Competencies. The designation is valid for a period
of three (3) years. Much like the original designation, CFO's
applying for continuation of the designation must demonstrate
excellence in Professional Development, Professional Contributions,
Association Membership and Community Involvement.
A Board of Review consisting of
members of the fire and emergency services profession, academia, and
municipal agencies review each application and recommends successful
candidates for designation to the Commission.
Chief Martin received his original
designation on August 20, 2003.
Chief Martin has been a member of the
Hebron Fire Protection District for 4 years.
