Hebron Fire Protection District to Sponsor Fire Service Explorer Post .
The HFPD is currently looking for high school students to join and participate in the Fire Service Explorer Program. The program encourages students to become active within their community as well as provide early insight to an exciting potential career. The HFPD Explorer Program is designed for young adults from 14 to 18 years of age and in at least the ninth grade. Once a student reaches the age of 18, they may qualify to become a volunteer firefighter. This program is a joint venture with the Boy Scouts of America and their Learning for Life Program.

The main goal of the Explorer program is to provide the young adult with a sense of responsibility to their neighborhood through on-going community related activities. This program will also encourage and teach students about teamwork, dedication and commitment. They will learn about firefighting, EMS, Hazardous Materials and more.

The meeting schedule for the Explorers is below.

All high school students and parents that have an interest in the program can call (859)586-9009 or contact:

The HFPD Explorer Post along with several other Explorer posts around Northern Kentucky participated in the 2009 Regional Olympics for Kentucky.

Pictured above is one of the Explorer training nights covering RIT.  The Explorers mostly do hand-on training learning different skills that can be used later in their fire service careers.

Several HFPD Explorers attended the 2008 Northern Kentucky Fire School held at the Campbell County Drill Field.  Explorers spent two days learning some basic firefighting skills.
